A 1.4-acre former agricultural farmstead in the Essex countryside has secured planning permission for redevelopment, involving the demolition of several existing barns and their replacement with five new residential dwellings.
We have been appointed to undertake an initial design audit to help ensure that construction cost and end value are better aligned. As part of this process, we have developed a series of footprint reduction options that retain the same number of bedrooms and key functional spaces, while improving overall efficiency and market appeal.
These options aim to optimise build costs without compromising the quality and scale required to achieve strong values in the local housing market. The revised proposals will be taken back through the planning process before progressing to the technical design stage and the discharge of a range of planning conditions.
